At Left on Read, we do not currently buy or trade books.

However, we do warmly accept book donations on a selective basis. All donated books will be reviewed by our team to determine if they align with our store’s mission, needs, and space availability. 

Note: We prioritize books by Black authors, stories centering Black experiences, and titles that align with our store’s vision for collective healing, growth, and empowerment.

We are unable to guarantee acceptance of all donations.

Books must be in excellent, sellable condition — no excessive wear, stains, odors (such as smoke or mildew), or damage.

We do not sell used books; donated books must meet the same standards as new inventory.

We currently cannot offer store credit or discounts in exchange for donations.

If a donation cannot be accepted, we are unable to store or dispose of books on behalf of donors.

If you'd like to donate, please contact us first at read@leftonreadbooks.com with a brief description or photo of the books you wish to donate. We’ll coordinate from there!
