On Saturday, September 13, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Left on Read welcomes author Tony Ballard for the release of his memoir Time Alone: From Isolation to Transformation. This deeply personal account traces his journey from a childhood marked by trauma, through 26 years of incarceration, to a life rebuilt through faith, discipline, and the unexpected gift of chess.
What began as a distraction became a pathway to healing, helping Tony think critically, solve problems, and transform his life from the inside out. Today, his work extends far beyond his own story, using chess to inspire thousands around the world who are incarcerated.
Join us for an inspiring evening of conversation, connection, and community as Tony shares his story of resilience and the power of transformation. Books will be available for purchase and signing.
